DOULA SERVICES MAY BE COVERED BY YOUR health INSURANCE

In the state of California, doula services are now covered by all Medi-Cal plans and most major private insurance plans.

Most plans will cover the following for members who are pregnant or were pregnant within the last year:

1 initial 90-minute visit
8 perinatal visits (prenatal or postpartum)
Labor and birth support
Support during miscarriage or abortion
2 extended postpartum visits, up to 3-hours each
Up to 9 extra postpartum visits with a provider’s written recommendation

I am not contracted with any insurance plans at this time. However, I can provide you with a bill to submit to request reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to find out what your coverage is.
